Donny van de Beek wouldn't look out of place at Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool, says a Dutch pundit.

Former Netherlands international Rene van der Gijp has told Dutch broadcaster Veronica that he feels Donny Van de Beek wouldn't look out of place at Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool.

The 21-year-old is having an excellent season with Ajax and on Wednesday impressed in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Juventus.

Tottenham could be in the market for somebody of Van de Beek's talent this summer after losing Mousa Dembele in January, while Liverpool had been linked with his team-mate Frenkie de Jong.

“I am not saying they [Ajax] have to sell everyone, but if I were the players and the coach, I would take full advantage of this [interest].

"This doesn’t happen every year. If you looked at Van de Beek at Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool….[you would think] that is a really good player.”

Italian publication Calciomercato have reported that the Amsterdam giants would demand around £35 million for one of their prized assets.

Liverpool probably don't need him, especially with Naby Keita finally coming good, but Spurs do.

Central midfield is a worrisome position for Mauricio Pochettino, especially next season, and Tottenham could do with someone of Van de Beek's ilk in there.
