We could be in store for some big Episode IX news at Star Wars Celebration later this week

Star Wars’ annual fan-fest is almost upon us with 2019’s Celebration convention set to take place in Chicago this coming weekend.

This year’s celebration of all things Star Wars has the potential to take on extra significance as the final episode in the Skywalker saga is due to release later this year.

However, we know next to nothing about Star Wars: Episode IX so far and we don’t even have an official title for the film yet.

That could all change however, during the dedicated panel show that’s set to take place on Friday, April 12.

The Episode IX panel is due to start at around 12pm Eastern time in the US, which means 5pm for those in the UK.

You can be sure a lot of fans, myself included, will be tuning in to get the first real bit of concrete news about Episode IX since J.J. Abrams confirmed filming on the movie had ended back in February.

With just eight month’s until the film’s much-anticipated release date, we’re overdue some proper news about the film after weeks of rumours.

The Episode IX panel show will likely be available to watch via the Star Wars website or on the Star Wars YouTube channel.

While the Episode IX panel will undoubtedly dominate the schedule on Friday, Celebration runs until Monday, April 15.

There’s plenty more going on over the weekend for Star Wars fans to get excited about.

Most notable are the panels for Galaxy’s Edge, Disney’s new Star Wars theme park world, Jedi: Fallen Order, the newest Star Wars video game from EA and The Mandalorian, Disney+’s exclusive live-action TV show.

It’s definitely an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan but what are you most looking forward to from Star Wars Celebration 2019?
