Tottenham Hotspur took on Manchester City in the Champions League this evening.
Tottenham Hotspur fans will feel like dancing in the streets tonight, after seeing their side beat Manchester City 1-0 in the Champions League at their brand new stadium - and Andros Townsend appears to be one of them.
Spurs went into the game having opened their new home with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace last week, and were looking to claim a huge scalp after a weekend without a game.
City, conversely, had beaten Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday, with Pep Guardiola's men attempting to win the quadruple - but their hopes took a blow tonight.
They did though have a huge chance in the first half. City won a penalty in the first half as Danny Rose was penalised for handball, but Sergio Aguero's effort was saved by Hugo Lloris.
That really got the crowd going, but Spurs suffered a major blow in the second half as Harry Kane walked straight down the tunnel with yet another ankle injury, meaning his season could well be over.
However, Spurs did claim a first leg win as Son Heung-min drove a shot through Ederson and into the net, and Mauricio Pochettino's men managed to hang on and take a 1-0 victory to the Etihad Stadium for the second leg.
During the game, ex-Spurs winger Townsend - currently with Crystal Palace - posted a photo from the stadium as he cheered on his former club, simply posting the word 'views' with his photo as he marvelled at the new arena.
