Newcastle United have loaned both Jacob Murphy and Dwight Gayle to West Bromwich Albion this season.

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has told the Chronicle that both Dwight Gayle and Jacob Murphy could come back into his thoughts at St. James’ Park.

Gayle and Murphy have both been loaned out by Newcastle to West Bromwich Albion during the course of the season.

Gayle has been at the Hawthorns since the start of the campaign, while Murphy joined him in January.

The pair have both performed well for the Baggies, and Benitez admits that he is yet to make a final decision on either of them.

“Dwight is doing really well,” Benitez said.

“It’s good when players are doing well for their teams and you have to consider them for the future.

“OK, you never know what can happen but it’s good when they are doing well and enjoying themselves.”

If Gayle and Murphy do return to Newcastle at the end of the campaign it would be a shock if they were kept around.

Newcastle appear to have moved on without them both, and Benitez is hoping to have money to spend this summer.

If the Spaniard is backed with funds then Murphy and Gayle could find themselves forced even further down the pecking order before the beginning of next term.
