Arsenal suffered a blow in their quest to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Everton at the weekend.

The Gunners went down 1-0 to Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the league on Sunday afternoon, with Phil Jagielka scoring the only goal in the match.

The result means that Unai Emery’s side are now fourth in the Premier League table with 63 points from 32 matches, a point behind third-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Emmanuel Frimpong was following the match, and the 27-year-old former Arsenal midfielder was not pleased with how the Gunners performed.

The former Ghana international stated on Twitter that Everton wanted to win more than Arsenal did, and he also criticised 26-year-old Germany international central defender Shkodran Mustafi and 33-year-old Spain international left-back Nacho Monreal.

Arsenal will return to action on Thursday evening when they take on Serie A outfit Napoli in the Europa League quarter-finals.
