A “Famous 4chan leaker” recently said Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC as an Epic Games store exclusive, but vexed cowboys can now put away their pistols as the rumour is almost definitely fake.
Fans no doubt want Rockstar’s renowned masterpiece to come to PC, yet an exclusivity deal with Epic Games would be off-putting (just ask fans of Borderlands 3).
Those hoping to one day play Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam will be pleased to hear that - while it’s not too surprising - the Epic Games exclusivity rumour appears to be fake.

The Red Dead Redemption 2 Epic Games store exclusive rumour is fake
A “Famous 4chan leaker” (via ResetEra) recently said Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced for PC on April 22, and that it will forever be an Epic Games store exclusive thanks to an agreement that provides Take-Two with all the profits from DLC.
“Howdy Partners, It’s me again. Famous 4chan leaker. So i got some great news, and not so great news. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced for PC on the 22nd of April at 9AM PST (California). It will be releasing July 9th, 2019. The bad news, it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. It will not get a Steam release, this is not a time exclusive deal. The reason being is Take-Two made a deal with Epic, allowing Take-Two to take full profit on DLC released for the game. Valve currently takes a 30% profit from any in-game purchases.”
While this was already far-fetched, fans can now safely assume it’s fake thanks to the same anonymous leaker having posted a near identical leak for Super Mario Odyssey.
“It’s me again. Famous 4chan leaker. So i got some great news, and not so great news. Super Mario Odyssey will be announced for PC on the 9nd of May at 22AM PST (California). The bad news, it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. It will not get a Steam release, this is not a time exclusive deal. The reason being is Nintendo made a deal with Epic, allowing Nintendo to take full profit on DLC released for the game.”
It’s still possible Red Dead Redemption 2 will come to PC and be an Epic Games store exclusive at launch, but you shouldn't expect an announcement or reveal to be made on April 22.
