Aston Villa’s Mitch Clark, Nottingham Forest’s Adam Crookes and West Bromwich Albion’s Kyle Howkins have each impressed for Port Vale.

John Askey has admitted that Port Vale could try to sign all three of their on-loan Championship defenders again next season. Aston Villa’s Mitch Clark, Nottingham Forest’s Adam Crookes and West Bromwich Albion’s Kyle Howkins have each impressed Askey in recent weeks.

The Vale boss told the Stoke Sentinel: “To have a back four with an average age of 21 play so well and look so solid bodes well. Although three of those are on loan, I am sure that the football club will be looking to secure the services of, if not all three, one or two of them.

“But it was really pleasing because at that age it is not easy to play in League Two. You can see them coming on. I think Mitch Clark has come on leaps and bounds in these last few weeks. Adam has always been steady and has slotted in well at left back, and it will be interesting to see how Kyle does now.”

Port Vale’s chances of bringing back the trio could be made easier by the fact that, as things stand, all three are out of contract at their parent clubs this summer.

And it remains to be seen whether or not Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and West Brom will offer new deals.

Howkins (Sentinel) recently revealed he would be open to a permanent move to Vale Park, although both Clark (Sentinel) and Crookes (Sentinel) have expressed hope that they can stay at Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest respectively.
