Timothy Weah’s goals have put Celtic on the verge of the Scottish Premiership title with the PSG loanee starring under Neil Lennon.
Timothy Weah has been a huge hit at Celtic.
The American international arrived in Glasgow on loan three months ago as a PSG starlet and the son of AC Milan legend George Weah. But it is credit to his performances in green and white that no one is talking about his family ties now, with the striker’s footballing ability taking precedence.
The 19-year-old scored his fourth goal in Celtic colours with a terrific header in Wednesday’s 2-0 win at St Mirren, a result that puts the Hoops on the verge on an eighth successive Scottish Premiership title.
With just a few weeks left in the 2018/19 season, Weah’s time in Scotland is already coming to an end with the teenager’s short-team loan deal expiring in May.
Yet Weah has given Celtic supporters genuine hope that he will be sticking around. Speaking to the Daily Record, he admits that he would give thought to a permanent move if PSG are willing to let him go.
“I feel like it’s a possibility. It’s something me and my family have to go over at the end of the season,” he said.
“I am loving it here so far so we just have to see what happens.”
Celtic would have to invest a big fee in a player who is very highly rated in France and the USA. But the fans clearly believe he would be worth every penny.
