The will it or won’t it fiasco surrounding Atlus’ Persona 5 coming to Nintendo Switch has taken another bump as Best Buy has removed their premature listing.
Yesterday, the Best Buy website listed Persona 5, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past for the Nintendo Switch, but the three listings have since been removed.
According to Twitter user Wario64, the listings have been removed from Best Buy’s CoreBlue system, but they still remain in the website's RSS.
Just to clarify on the Best Buy thing, the Switch listings are still there in its RSS, but not on their CoreBlue system. Basically, the listings are still there in one form— Wario64 (@Wario64) April 3, 2019
It being deleted or not means nothing anyway until they're officially announced
So does this mean Persona 5 is or isn’t coming to the Nintendo Switch? Unfortunately, we won’t know until April 25 when Atlus reveal what Persona 5 is and what they mean by “new Phantom Thieves”. Until then, everything said about Persona 5 on the Switch is merely rumours, no matter how much we want it to come to Nintendo's console this Fall.
As if Persona 5’s rumoured appearance on the Switch hasn’t been tiring enough, it’s also possible Joker might not join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this month as Nintendo has removed "April" from the Challenger Pack trailer.
In other Atlus news, the latest Persona Q2 trailer reintroduces a surprising MC, and the reveal trailer for Persona 5 The Royal seems to rule out the possibility of a female protagonist.
