Fulham's relegation to the Championship was finally confirmed on Tuesday night, having been thrashed 4-1 away at Watford.

After eight defeats in a row and 11 in the last 12, Fulham were on the brink of joining Huddersfield Town in the Championship, less than a year after winning promotion.

Defeat at Watford would secure their fate, and they fell behind in the first half as Abdoulaye Doucoure put the Hornets in front, only for Ryan Babel to snatch an equaliser for Fulham, giving them renewed hope.

It all fell apart in the second half though, as Will Hughes, Troy Deeney and Kiko Femenia all found the net for Watford, securing a 4-1 win.

That ninth straight defeat was the final nail in Fulham's coffin, and after a dismal season back in the Premier League, they're returning to the Championship.

They must now consider who their new permanent manager will be after Scott Parker's interim stint, and they may also have to plan for some outgoings after dropping into the second tier again.

£22m summer signing (Guardian) Aleksandar Mitrovic is likely to attract major interest having been Fulham's shining light this season, scoring 10 times in 32 games, whilst picking up a couple of assists.

Now, a few Everton fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to move for the Serbian striker, feeling he would be real upgrade on Cenk Tosun and an ideal foil for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Fans across Stanley Park are also keen, with some Liverpool fans hoping to see Mitrovic arrive as cover for Roberto Firmino at Anfield, believing it's a no brainer to add him given that Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi may leave this summer.
