Victor Camarasa has scored five Premier League goals for Cardiff City and he’s the sort of player Rafa Benitez needs at Newcastle United.

Anyone who watched Newcastle United in action at the Emirates on Monday night will tell you exactly where Rafa Benitez is crying out for a bit of added quality.

The Magpies have a solid backline these days and three useful forwards in Salomon Rondon, Ayoze Perez and Miguel Almiron. But they are missing that little spark in central midfield, a player with the ability to link defence and attack and provide that much-needed element of composure and vision.

So reports from Marca claiming that Victor Camarasa is available for just £12.8 million this summer should have Benitez and co hurriedly sending scouts down to South Wales.

Celtic's daunting Champions League qualification challenge

Camarasa has shone on loan at Cardiff City but his future rests with his parent club, Real Betis. The La Liga outfit are apparently planning to sell the former Spain U21 international with Tottenham, Everton, West Ham and Leicester City interested.

But a Newcastle side who were apparently plotting a £5 million bid for Camarasa during his time at Levante in 2015, as reported by The Mirror, should not waste their chance to lure the gifted playmaker to St James’ Park.

With five goals this season and three assists to boot, Camarasa is exactly the kind of gifted midfielder Newcastle need. And, at £12.8 million, he might even be affordable enough for Mike Ashley to splash out on.
