Eredivisie stars Steven Bergwijn and Nicolas Tagliafico have been linked with a move to the Premier League with Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to watch the crunch Eredivisie clash between Ajax and PSV Eindhoven on Sunday, as reported by Calciomercato, with a couple of their rumoured summer targets in action.

Ajax went into the game at the Johan Cruyff Arena sitting five points behind their bitter rivals in the table but they reduced the gap to just two with an impressive 3-1 triumph over Mark Van Bommel’s side.

Dusan Tadic and David Neres scored the decisive goals in a result made even more impressive when you consider that Ajax had 10 men for the last half hour. But who were Spurs there to watch?

The Sun (25 March, page 51) reported that Tottenham are interested in signing Ajax’s £15 million-rated left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, who has been a revelation on the flanks this season.

De Telegraaf, meanwhile, claimed last month that PSV’s quicksilver forward Steven Bergwijn is also on Mauricio Pochettino’s wishlist. The Dutchman has 12 goals and 13 assists this season and PSV will not sell for a penny less than £30 million.

Interestingly, both Tagliafico and Bergwijn started in the weekend’s top of the table clash and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will now step up their interest.
