Kris Boyd has lauded Celtic ace James Forrest for showing his composure during his side’s 2-1 win over Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

In a typical fiery Old Firm fixture, Forrest dealt the killer blow when he slotted home three minutes from time to send the Parkhead faithful into party mode.

There was a lot of tension and flashpoints before, during and after the match, with Gers striker Alfredo Morelos and midfielder Andy Halliday seeing red for their off-the-ball actions.

Speaking to Sky Sports Football (31/03/2019 at 2:30 pm) after the match, Boyd praised Forrest for how he performed during the game as he stated that he is now a ‘different player’.

“Over the last wee while he looks like a different player in front of goal,” Boyd told Sky Sports Football. “So composed to what he used to be. I thought he used to lash at a lot of things, but we are seeing it especially in this fixture as well that James Forrest when he’s in these situations now cool, calm, composed and an excellent finish.”

Versatile attacker Forrest has been proving his worth in front of goal this season and he is one of the main reasons why Celtic are 13 points clear at the top of the table.

Whilst the fiery incidents during the Old Firm game made the headlines, Forrest was arguably one of the best players on the pitch during the match and he made it count at the death.

Over the course of the season, he has played 28 Premiership matches for his side, scoring 11 goals and supplying his teammates with 12 assists [transfermarkt].

He will be looking to finish the season on a high now by securing the Premiership title and then helping Neil Lennon win the treble-treble.
