Rangers saw Alfredo Morelos receive another red card on Sunday.

You just can’t keep Alfredo Morelos out of the headlines, nor the referees notebook.

The Rangers striker has been in blistering goalscoring form, but he’s been racking up cards at a frantic pace as well.

Morelos went into Sunday’s game against Old Firm rivals Celtic with 17 yellow cards and four reds this season, with boss Steven Gerrard backing him throughout the campaign.

However, Sunday appeared to be the final straw for many. Morelos was sent off away at Parkhead for elbowing Celtic captain Scott Brown, who essentially wound up the Colombian and lured him into the red.

Celtic went on to win 2-1 as James Forrest snatched a late winner for the Bhoys, even after Ryan Kent had dragged the 10-man Gers level.

That red card tally is now up to five this season, and Morelos remains without a goal against Celtic, despite taking Scottish football by storm since his 2017 move from HJK Helsinki.

Gerrard and Rangers fans are furious, almost exasperated with Morelos for this repeated problem, with many now suggesting that the 22-year-old simply must be sold this summer, because he’s costing Rangers too regularly with his ill-discipline.

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that Morelos should be sold in order to ensure winger Kent is signed permanently from Liverpool.

The other player Rangers fans want Gerrard to sign with money for Morelos is Gers-mad Oliver McBurnie, currently scoring with Swansea City in the Championship, seemingly feeling that he would be a more reliable option than Morelos.
