Leeds United’s Under-23s continued their recent success by securing their progression to the Premier League Cup semi-finals.

Fresh from clinching the Professional Development League North title on Monday, Carlos Corberan’s side beat Burnley 3-1 earlier this afternoon.

Goals from Ryan Edmondson and Hugo Diaz sealed the win, after Burnley’s Dan Agyei had cancelled out an early own goal.

And it was one of those players who appears to have most impressed those of a Leeds persuasion on Twitter.

Here’s what they’re saying…

Diaz was part of the first wave of youth team recruits brought to Leeds by director of football Victor Orta two years ago.

The 22-year-old was previously on the books of Deportivo La Coruna and had a loan spell at local side Silva SD.

Andrea Radrizzani, Owner of Leeds United (3L) looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

He made his senior Leeds debut against Preston North End a year ago, during Paul Heckingbottom’s reign, and was on the bench for this season’s FA Cup third round defeat against Queens Park Rangers.

Diaz’s Elland Road contract still has another year left to run.
