The Newcastle United star is being pelted on Twitter.
Well, Newcastle United fans don't have to worry about Miguel Almiron getting injured on international duty anymore.
Almiron faced Mexico in a friendly in the early hours of this morning, but was sent off seven minutes after coming on in the second half.
The former Atlanta FC playmaker, a £20 million signing in January [The Sun], appeared to rake his studs down the leg of Jose Juan Vazquez, while his country were trailing 3-1.
And suffice to say that some neutral fans have slammed the incident.

This is still a Miguel Almiron Fan Account but with my head down in shame after that horrendous foul I hope y’all can understand my situation— Josset (@JossetDiaz) March 27, 2019
Wtf was Almiron thinking? That was such a stupid tackle— The Colorful Kit (@TheColorfulKit) March 27, 2019
And let’s be honest, as much as he’s not a dirty player, that was completely foolish from Almiron on that foul, lunging in way off the ball.— Roberto Rojas (@RobertoRojas97) March 27, 2019
Disgusting tackle from Almiron. Did anyone not tell him this is a FRIENDLY match??— pablo (@pablo7_) March 27, 2019
The tackle sparked a melee between both sets of players, with Mexico's Miguel Layun taking exception to the challenge and physically confronting one of Almiron's team-mates.
From a Newcastle perspective, it's good that he escaped unharmed.
Benitez's side are seven points clear of danger, but United visit Arsenal on Monday in what could be a defeat for the Magpies.
If Cardiff City win at home to Chelsea, the gap to the St James's Park will be four points, depending also on results elsewhere.
