England picked up another thumping win on Monday night.

England hammered Montenegro 5-1 on Monday night, and former Three Lions hero Gary Lineker is very excited about the future.

After beating the Czech Republic 5-0 on Friday, England were on their travels last night as they headed to Podgorica to take on Montenegro in their next Euro 2020 qualifier.

Gareth Southgate’s men suffered an early scare as Montenegro went in front through Marko Vesovic, with the Legia Warsaw man firing a fine finish past Jordan Pickford.

However, England were in front before half time as Michael Keane and Ross Barkley struck from close range, before Barkley added another in the second half.

Barkley set away Raheem Sterling to tee up Harry Kane for number four, and Sterling to himself on the scoresheet late on, racing past the Montenegro defence to score.

With 10 goals and two wins in this international break, it’s all gone according to plan for Southgate and co, with England still excelling even after the highs of their World Cup campaign.

Lineker was hugely impressed with the young crop of players developing for England, and then named a whole host of others talents to be excited about – including Leeds ace Jack Clarke.

The 18-year-old winger has dazzled at times in the Championship this season, and to be included in a list containing the likes of Jadon Sancho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez sums up just how highly the Elland Road favourite is rated.
