Everton are reportedly gearing up to take on the likes of Southampton and Burnley in the race to sign Che Adams in the summer.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (24/3; page 59), Everton sent their top scout to watch Che Adams last week as they plot a summer bid for the Birmingham City forward.
Adams has enjoyed an outstanding season with the Blues, scoring 21 goals for Garry Monk’s side, who saw their slim hopes of making the play-offs in the Championship dashed this past week with a nine-point deduction.
The Sun on Sunday (24/3; page 59) reports that Birmingham may have to sell Adams in the summer, with the Toffees joining the likes of Burnley and Southampton in the race to sign the £15 million-rated forward.
The report adds that Everton sent their top scout Jamie Hoyland to watch the youngster last week with Marco Silva ready to let Cenk Tosun leave Goodison Park at the end of the season.

Adams is actually going through one of his worst runs of the season, having not scored in his last five appearances. His drought has proved costly for Birmingham, who have not scored in their last four games. But some fans may oddly be relieved that they had gone off the boil before the points deduction as it would have been a lot more difficult to accept had they been on the cusp of the top six.
Unfortunately for Monk’s men, the penalty from the EFL has surely made it more likely that Adams will be on his way in the summer, especially with a growing list of top flight sides monitoring his situation.
And if Marco Silva can win the race for the 22-year-old’s signature and get the player that Birmingham fans have seen for much of this campaign, then perhaps Everton will finally have that striker that they have been crying out for at times this season.
