After a torrid season, Real Madrid are already preparing for a big summer – and that may just impact West Ham United.
Real are third in La Liga, closer to fourth placed Getafe in points than they are to runaway leaders Barcelona, whilst they were dumped out of the Champions League by Ajax.
Zinedine Zidane has been brought back as the club's new manager, and they already appear to be gearing up for a summer spending spree to bolster their squad – and ultimately avoid another wasted season.
Chelsea's Eden Hazard is a known target, but Sky Sports report that a £60million bid for the Belgian has been rejected, with a surprise alternative allegedly being considered.
It's claimed that Real would target West Ham United's Felipe Anderson if they can't sign Hazard, with a £65million move being weighed up by the Spanish giants.
Anderson, 25, joined West Ham from Lazio in a big-money move last summer, and has notched eight goals and four assists in his first Premier League campaign.
The speedy playmaker has returned to the Brazil squad as a result, despite only hitting one goal and two assists in his last 14 appearances for the Hammers.
Unsurprisingly, the rumours have sparked interest among West Ham fans, with many suggesting that Anderson isn't good enough for a club like Real Madrid, and has been 'shocking' of late.
Others feel that he simply isn't consistent enough but should still command at least £75million in the transfer market, with the general feeling one of bewilderment that Real may be interested in signing Anderson.
As a West Ham fan, he’s nowhere near good enough for Madrid— jh (@joeharris06) March 21, 2019
Would be good there but there’s defo better left wingers so leave him alone— Xande (@GoldXandeSilva) March 21, 2019
Not good enough for Madrid— Baz Tav (@baztav) March 21, 2019
Opening offer should be £125m and take no less than £75m IF the rumors are true.— SmokeyJones (@Gingerbr3d) March 21, 2019
Anderson lacks consistency otherwise he'd be playing for teams like Real Madrid. Needs to improve his mindset cos he starts hiding in his shell if you leave one early on on him https://t.co/qJwJ91Axkq— Mahfuz (@MahfuzLDN) March 21, 2019

Lets be realistic before panicking. Real Madrid can get any player in the world. Reckon there's at least 15 deals that have to go south before they'll take a punt on Felipe Anderson.— chaz (@ChazzSM) March 21, 2019
If Anderson goes to Real Madrid we could have another big transfer window #Anderson— Jack (@JackGraham16) March 21, 2019
What's he done since new year he's quality be too inconsistent— Conko97WHU (@Connorlangham1) March 21, 2019
Neymar to Hazard to Anderson. Real Madrid are going to be linked to Christian Atsu by the time the window opens!— Green St. Hammers (@GreenStHammers) March 21, 2019
