Nottingham Forest are reportedly keen on Wigan’s Gavin Massey.

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Wigan Athletic forward Gavin Massey – but he’s keen to stay at the DW Stadium.

Massey, 26, came up through the ranks with Watford before stints with Colchester United and Leyton Orient, and earned a move to Wigan in 2017.

A versatile forward who can play up front or out wide, Massey helped the Latics win promotion to the Championship last season, but has been in and out of the side this term.

Massey has only started 11 Championship games, notching three goals and one assist for Paul Cook’s side, and he scored against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Massey appears to have done enough to earn interest from other Championship clubs, with Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers understood to be interested.

The speedy attacker is out of contract this summer, meaning Forest and QPR will be looking at a potential bargain – but Wigan have allegedly opened talks about a new contract.

Massey is understood to be keen on staying with Wigan, but with the Latics battling against relegation, joining an established Championship club may be appealing.
