But it appears that that may not deter Los Che when the window reopens in the coming months, as Football London is reporting that Valencia are expected to go back in for Hernandez.
It is not clear how West Ham view Hernandez's future. But perhaps it may be a decision that may split the Hammers supporters given that the former Manchester United man has scored 15 Premier League goals since arriving in 2017 - including a brace in the stunning comeback win against Huddersfield Town at the weekend.
Unfortunately for Hernandez, he appears to be most influential for Manuel Pellegrini's side when he is coming off the bench, and he has thus, only started in 28 of the 50 top flight games he has played for the Irons.
It may be a gamble to let him go however, with no player in the West Ham squad reaching double figures for league goals this season. He may frustrate the supporters at times, but there is no question that he is a fantastic option to throw on when the team is in desperate need of a goal.
