Rangers' Morelos wasn't happy with the former Ibrox defender, whose new side drew with Steven Gerrard's on Saturday.
Some Rangers fans are ready to wash their hands one former Gers player.
Kirk Broadfoot, who won three Premiership titles in five full seasons at Rangers, appeared to rake his studs down the back of Alfredo Morelos's Achilles while playing for Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday.
But Broadfoot's action flew somewhat under the radar, with Morelos perceived by many as being the aggressor after turning around to push the defender.
Footage of the incident has since emerged, however, and seems to confirm Rangers supporters' suspicion that their player was provoked.
This is what those of a Gers persuasion are saying about the 34-year-old, who left the club shortly after their relegation to Scotland's fourth tier to sign for Blackpool...
If the press reported this properly then it’s understandable why Morelos pushed him away— Four Lads Had a Dream (@4ladshadadream) 18 March 2019
A disgusting deliberate attempt to rake his foot down Alfredo’s Achilles
A cowardly attempt & not first time, he had done similar to Jack
The only one who should face action is Broadfoot https://t.co/HIqMKhp9kd
This guy has a European medal from playing for us. You would think he once played for Seperate Entity FC the way he acts now.— John the GersMan (@GersMan61) 18 March 2019
That will be the same clueless daftie @KirkBroadfoot1 that canny even cook an egg correctly? Nae brain cells then and no brain cells with flipper feet now! Tool of a guy, absolute tool! Should be held to account and hang his head in shame!— Scott Martin (@ShamishMonster) 18 March 2019
He's the most hated ex Rangers player and that includes Nayshame.— Matt (@matt_uberhonda) 18 March 2019
I cant recall a previous Rangers player who has fallen so low since leaving our club. An absolute scumbag of a man and player.— Bell (@d3kbl) 18 March 2019
Kirk Broadfoot is a cheat. He raked his studs down Morelos’ achilles and then dived when he got pushed away, yet the media are once again trying to get Alfredo banned.— TheCoplandRoad.org (@CoplandRoadOrg) 18 March 2019
Welcome to Scotland, where local, ageing hammer throwers are valued over talented, young foreigners.
He’s attempted to cheat in every game against us he’s played. I hope he’s never invited back to Ibrox as a former player upon hanging up his boots. The only player in the 2008 team I’ve zero respect for.— GerrardExpress (@GerrardExpress) 18 March 2019
Kirk Broadfoot really does go out his way to dispel the theory “Once a Ranger always a Ranger “ https://t.co/t3dC2TWB47— Bill Simpson (@billsimps) 18 March 2019
Broadfoot is doing what he's told to do by his manager. We have seen it all season from Kilmarnock they always leave a bit on a player even when the ball isn't close & look to waste time almost from the first whistle but if the referee allows it then you need to accept it.— Willy (@SpatestonBear2) 18 March 2019
Broadfoot has always been like this, perfect type of player for Steve Clarke.— Russell Brown (@RussellBrown72) 18 March 2019
It is feared that Morelos, who is Rangers' top scorer despite receiving multiple suspensions this season, could face a ban for his role in the incident.
The Colombian went on to score his side's equalising goal after Conor McAleny had given Killie the lead at their rivals for a European place.
