Moutinho moved to Wolves from AS Monaco in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £5 million.
The Portugal international midfielder has revealed that he was close to making the switch to Everton back in 2008 when he was at Sporting Lisbon.
The 32-year-old has also disclosed that he signed a contract with Tottenham four years later, only to miss the deadline by a minute.
The first was Everton, the second Spurs. I am in the room but the next day I had a game in Portugal, it didn’t happen, it was one minute from happening… I had actually signed but it was one minute past the deadline.”
Moutinho arrived at Wolves in the summer of 2018 with a strong reputation, with the midfielder having been a huge success at Sporting, FC Porto and Monaco.
The 32-year-old midfielder won league titles in Portugal with Porto and the Ligue 1 with Monaco in 2017.
So far this season, the midfielder - who won the UEFA European Championship in 2016 with Portugal - has made 27 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Wolves, scoring one goal and providing seven assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
