Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the Benfica youngster.
According to a report from Portuguese media outlet Record, Liverpool have initiated contact with Benfica regarding the possibility of signing Francisco Reis Ferreira, better known as Ferro, in the summer.
Standing at 6ft 3in tall, the 21-year-old is a powerfully built centre-back, and possesses outstanding talent, although he is still somewhat rough around the edges.
Record claims that Liverpool actually tried to sign Ferro two years ago, making a loan approach with an option to buy for €10 million (£8.5 million) - a bid that was subsequently rejected by Benfica.
The Portugal under-21 international has only made nine senior appearances in all competitions for Benfica, so he is massively inexperienced, and a move to the Premier League would be a huge jump up in both intensity and quality for the youngster.
Judging by the Record's report, however, Jürgen Klopp has obviously seen something in Ferro that he likes, but whether Benfica will be willing to sell the centre-back to Liverpool remains to be seen.
