According to Calciomercato.com, Piotr Zielinski will sign a new contract with Napoli despite interest from Liverpool.

Liverpool are reported to be interested in signing Zielinski from Italian club Napoli in the summer transfer window.

The report, though, has claimed that the 24-year-old international will sign a new deal with his Serie A club.

It has also been reported that the Poland international will put pen to paper on a contract until the summer of 2014 and will earn €3 million (£2.56m) per year as salary.

Missing out

Zielinski is a very good midfielder who will enhance the quality of the Liverpool midfield, and it will be a blow for the Reds if the Poland international signs a new contract with Napoli and does not move to Anfield in the summer transfer window.

According to WhoScored, the former Udinese midfielder has made 23 starts and three substitute appearances in Serie A for Napoli so far this season, scoring four goals in the process.

While Napoli are aiming to finish second in Serie A this season, Liverpool are aiming for the Premier League title.
