Leeds United lost a big six-pointer with Sheffield United today.
Chris Basham scored the only goal of the game as the Blades won 1-0 at Elland Road to move above Leeds into second in the Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa's side are now third but victory would have given them a five-point cushion in the top two.
The Whites have spent most of this season in either first or second position and Bamford - a £7 million signing last summer [The Daily Mail] - is interested to see whether Chris Wilder's side can deal with the newfound pressure on them to win automatic promotion.
He told LUTV: "For once the pressure is off us as a club. We're no longer in the driving seat. Sheffield haven't had that pressure yet. They've always been the underdog. It's a new thing for them.
"People aren't going to be talking about if Leeds are going to do it [win promotion]. The majority of the focus is going to be on the other two teams."
It's an excellent point by Bamford.
Leeds don't have a game now for another two weeks due to the international break, but it'll be very interesting to see whether the reduction in pressure allows Bielsa's side to go about their business quietly now.
For the first time in a very long time, promotion isn't in their hands and Bamford could well be right. It's uncharted territory for the Blades and time will tell if they can handle it.
