Aston Villa have made it four wins on the trot as they hammered playoff-chasing Middlesbrough 3-0 in Saturday's Championship encounter at Villa Park.

Dean Smith's charges were dominant against their opponents, finishing the game with more than 60 percent possession and 18 shots besides the impressive scoreline (Sky Sports).

The opener came just before the half hour mark through Anwar El Ghazi, who picked his spot finished clinically after John McGinn's square pass.

The provider then got himself on the scoresheet on the stroke of half time, bearing down on goal and rifling a low finish into the bottom corner beyond Darren Randolph's reach.

After substitute Britt Assombalonga had missed Boro's best chance, heading wide from inside the area, Albert Adomah added the cherry on top with a rebound late on.

Villa are now sixth in the table thanks to their superb run and, following the full time whistle, some fans took to Twitter to rejoice, with Bournemouth's on-loan defender Tyrone Mings once again getting a lot of plaudits:

Up next for Villa is their Championship clash at home against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 30 March.
