Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the Colombian ace.
According to a report from the Mirror, Liverpool and Manchester United head the queue of clubs interested in signing James Rodriguez this summer, but he will not come cheap.
Spanish media outlet El Confidencial claims that Real Madrid value the Colombian at €60 million (£51 million), and that they would prefer to sell to another club other than Bayern Munich, who have an option to buy the winger for €42 million (£36 million) at the end of the season.
Liverpool got a first-hand glimpse of what Rodriguez, 27, is capable of during their last 16 tie with Bayern Munich, and the Colombia international would undoubtedly provide Jürgen Klopp with that little bit of extra magic in the final third.
The Real Madrid-owned ace is a winger by trade, but he has often been used as part of a midfield three during his loan spell with Bayern, and this could appeal to Klopp, given his need for more creativity in the middle of the park.
Should Bayern choose not to take up their option to sign the Madrid ace, and Liverpool have the chance to bring him to Anfield for just £51 million, it should be a deal that Klopp does not hesitate to make happen.
