Leeds United youngster Joshua Rae was called into action last night for the under-23s.
The teenage goalkeeper came off he bench in the Premier League Cup match last night after Harrison Male was sent off.
Rae had predicted a big end to the season. Little did he know it would come in these circumstances.
He sent a message on Monday, making clear he expected to be start stepping up a level.
Leeds acquired Rae from Celtic in 2017 and he has worked his way from the under-18s into the under-23 set up.
BBC Sport reported in 2014 how Celtic beat competition from Everton to land Rae.
This was after he made his debut for Hamilton's under-20 side at just 13.
Now he is on Leeds' books and last night he got his breakthrough for the under-23s against Fulham.
The score was 2-2 when he came on midway through the second half, before it went to extra time.
He held out, with the game going to penalties. Rae's dream night saw Leeds win 5-4 in the shootout, even though he didn't make a save, with Fulham skying over the bar. He was mobbed by celebrating teammates all the same.
