West Bromwich Albion picked up a win in the first game since Darren Moore's sacking as they beat Swansea City 3-0 last night.

The Baggies saw Moore lose his job on Saturday evening after a home draw with Ipswich Town, and fans were hoping for an improvement at The Hawthorns on Wednesday.

Chris Brunt put West Brom in front in his first appearance for more than a month, before Swansea's Bersant Celina stumbled when taking a penalty to squander a golden chance for the visitors.

Everton loanee Mason Holgate added a second for West Brom after the break, and Jay Rodriguez wrapped it all up with a third late in the day.

West Brom's win strengthens their play-off position, and caretaker boss James Shan will remain in charge of the club this weekend as the Baggies seek a permanent replacement for Moore.

It was a mostly positive night for West Brom, but that didn't stop fans from being hugely critical of Newcastle United loanee Jacob Murphy, who featured out wide last night.

The winger hasn't yet impressed since joining on loan from Newcastle on deadline day in January, and he was blasted by fans again despite the victory.

Fans suggested that he was 'absolutely woeful' and 'may as well not be on the pitch', feeling that he's a waste of space right now, and he must really turn things around if he's to return to Newcastle and push for first-team football, with his spell at The Hawthorns not exactly going to plan.
