West Bromwich Albion beat Swansea City 3-0 on Tuesday night.
West Bromwich Albion picked up a win in the first game since Darren Moore's sacking as they beat Swansea City 3-0 last night.
The Baggies saw Moore lose his job on Saturday evening after a home draw with Ipswich Town, and fans were hoping for an improvement at The Hawthorns on Wednesday.
Chris Brunt put West Brom in front in his first appearance for more than a month, before Swansea's Bersant Celina stumbled when taking a penalty to squander a golden chance for the visitors.
Everton loanee Mason Holgate added a second for West Brom after the break, and Jay Rodriguez wrapped it all up with a third late in the day.
West Brom's win strengthens their play-off position, and caretaker boss James Shan will remain in charge of the club this weekend as the Baggies seek a permanent replacement for Moore.
The winger hasn't yet impressed since joining on loan from Newcastle on deadline day in January, and he was blasted by fans again despite the victory.
Fans suggested that he was 'absolutely woeful' and 'may as well not be on the pitch', feeling that he's a waste of space right now, and he must really turn things around if he's to return to Newcastle and push for first-team football, with his spell at The Hawthorns not exactly going to plan.
Jacob Murphy is actually worse than James McClean. There, I said it #wba— Matt | G.G (@GGrubbie) March 13, 2019
#wba sorry Murphy may as well not be on the pitch. Not one pass to an Albion player yet and given away too many fouls.— Martin Woodward (@MWoodward71) March 13, 2019
Murphy is a complete waste of space wba— colbert fitzpatrick (@ColbertFitz) March 13, 2019
On a side note. Murphy is utter cack. The chap has zero bottle. #wba— Morany (@Bromayit) March 13, 2019
Win was most important thing tonight. Players seemed to work hard. Murphy and Harper didn’t seem quite at it. HRK quality when he came on. Brunt shut his haters up. Johnstone with the best goalkeeping I’ve seen in years #WBA— Paul (@P4ulG87) March 13, 2019
The only real positives from that half are Sam Johnstone’s performance and the fact that we are somehow winning. Murphy should not come out for the 2nd half. He’s been woeful again! Need to get Johanson or Morrison on and shore up midfield #wba— mark turner (@turner14guvnor) March 13, 2019
