The Villa ace put in another impressive performance in the Championship win at Nottingham Forest.
Aston Villa's Championship season has had its ups and downs but now things are very much on the right track following yet another superb victory against a tricky opponent.
At the City Ground on Wednesday night, Nottingham Forest took the lead early on through Jack Colback, but the Villans equalised within minutes as John McGinn drove home from the left.
McGinn added his and Villa's second on the quarter hour mark, a stunning long-range effort from 25 yards out that went in off the post beyond the reach of Reds keeper Costel Pantilimon.
There would be a relatively long wait for another goal in the game but it went the right way for the travelling contingent as Kortney Hause deflected a whipped free kick from Conor Hourihane.
By his own high standards that he's set since his return to action, Jack Grealish might not have scored a goal of the season contender or the winner in a vicious derby but he nonetheless impressed with his all-round play against the Trickies.
After the game, Villa boss Dean Smith made comments about the winger which should worry all of their upcoming opponents between now and the end of the season, and beyond.
"Jack is still not back to full fitness which is scary for other teams," he is quoted by the Birmingham Mail as saying at full time.
"He let me down today because he didn’t score, he’s scored a goal a game since he’s come back! Players are coming back and we’re getting stronger and stronger and so is Jack."
The result saw Villa leapfrog Martin O'Neil's side into eighth place in the Championship, two points behind sixth-placed Derby.
