Tottenham target Tanguy Ndombele started for Lyon.

Tottenham Hotspur attempted to sign Tanguy Ndombele last summer, L'Equipe reported.

Since then the Frenchman's profile has continued to rise, along with his price tag.


L'Equipe claimed Spurs' enquiry of around 40 million Euros was dismissed by Lyon. Now they could charge around double.

Remarkably, Ndombele could be worth it.

He was excellent in the Champions League last night at the Nou Camp despite Lyon's defeat to Barcelona.

Ndombele touched the ball more times than any other Lyon player, winning five tackles and making three interceptions.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was in the stands to watch the game play out, The Express reported.

Spurs are currently out in Spain for a training camp.
