Nottingham Forest's play-off hopes suffered a hit last night as they lost at home to Aston Villa.

Forest lost 3-1, missing a chance to go level on points with rivals Derby in sixth place.

Martin O'Neill's side are still in the mix, but are in 10th position, with Villa now overtaking them along with Preston North End.

Forest midfielder Pele was among the starters.

He sent a message to fans reflecting on the loss. He has vowed to help get his side back on track.
