11 years and 21 films have led up to this momentous occasion and film fans all over the world will surely wait with baited breath to see if Thanos can indeed be defeated after the traumatic conclusion to 2018's Avengers: Infinity War.
Presumably 2019's Endgame will pick up the story threads from where Infinity War left off, which leaves the remaining Avengers as complete underdogs in the final battle against the great Titan, Thanos.
Most of the cast from Infinity War are set to return for Endgame but who knows how many will be left standing once the final credits roll.
In the directing chairs for Endgame are the Russo brothers. Joe and Anthony Russo have been responsible for arguably two of the best MCU movies to date in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. The pair have been given the monumental task of rounding off the latest phase of the MCU with Endgame and its sure to be one of the biggest cinematic events in history.
Joining the already huge cast will be Brie Larson, star of the MCU's latest blockbuster, Captain Marvel. As one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel will almost certainly help turn the tide for the Avenges in their climactic battle with Thanos.
However, we're still going to have to wait a few more weeks before we get to see the remaining Avengers in action once again as Avengers: Endgame will be released on April 25, 2019 in the UK.
I'm sure Marvel fans won't mind though and will be flooding cinemas upon the release of Endgame next month.

Unlike Disney's other tentpole franchise, Star Wars, Marvel's Avengers: Endgame has had plenty of teasers and trailers released so far.
In December, we had the very first trailer for Endgame where we also learned of the film's title for the first time. In the trailer we see the Avengers dealing with the aftermath of Thanos's finger-snap that wiped out half of the universe's population.
Next up we got a second glimpse of Endgame during the 2019 Superbowl. As is customary, several films show off little sneak peaks at America's premier sporting event and the fourth Avengers film was no different. The teaser was much shorter than the first trailer but hinted at a much darker tone likely to be present in the film.
And finally we have today's brand new trailer for Avengers: Endgame. The trailer doesn't hide away from filling fans with nostalgia as we are shown several moments from the MCU's past, most notably clips from Captain America: The First Avenger, Civil War and 2008's Iron Man.
On top of that, we get a great glimpse at the Avengers looking bad-ass in their new suits and for those who've seen the post-credits scenes of Captain Marvel, we see an extension of that where Carol Danvers is introduced to Thor, the Avenger's most powerful hero so far.
