Recoe Martin has been prolific for League Two side MK Dons' Under-18s.

MK Dons youngster Recoe Martin is a player very much in demand, if a recent media report is to be believed.

According to The Mirror, the prolific 18-year-old is on the radar of Premier League duo Newcastle United, Southampton, as well as Championship side Norwich City.

Martin caught the eye when he came on as a substitute and scored five goals in 17 minutes as MK Dons Under-18s came back from 2-0 down to beat Leyton Orient 5-2 earlier in March (MK Citizen).

With Leeds United vying with Norwich on the pitch for promotion from the Championship, they should think about also taking the battle to the transfer market with regards to the MK ace, who has drawn comparisons with ex-Dons man Dele Alli.

Although Martin is yet to make a first-team appearance, the report says he has yet to sign a professional contract and could leave on a compensation package, which would make him a fairly low-risk acquisition.

The left-footed forward would benefit from a superb academy setup at Thorp Arch and, with Marcelo Bielsa having placed a lot of trust in youth this season, he could potentially find himself in the first team were he to impress and work hard.

Indeed, Leeds Live quoted a report by Training Guru which showed that Leeds are getting more out of their graduates than the likes of Newcastle, who are reported to be interested in Martin.

The opportunity to sign a highly rated, high-scoring youngster for what should not be a great sum of money and get one over on their Championship title rivals, combined with a player who would be in a great place to progress, should prompt Leeds to start making enquiries.
