Does Conor Hazard have a future at parent club Celtic?

On-loan Celtic goalkeeper could've been a hero last night.

The 21-year-old saved a penalty for loan side Partick Thistle in their Scottish Cup quarter-final replay away to Hearts, who still managed to win 2-1 and move into the semis.

Nevertheless, it was a solid display from the Celtic academy star, who has enjoyed his season-long loan stint at Partick.

But could he break into the senior squad next season?

Former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers once tipped Hazard for big things, saying he believes that he'll be a 'very good keeper' [Bhoys' official site].

Craig Gordon, who turns 37 this year, seems to be a declining force at Parkhead after losing his first-team place to Scott Bain in recent months and maybe, just maybe, a solid last few months for Hazard will see Rodgers's successor keep him in the first-team setup next term.

He was called up to Northern Ireland's senior squad on Tuesday, which reinforces his potential, and it'll be interesting to see if the youngster - yet to make his Celtic debut - can make the leap this summer.

Craig Gordon of Celtic warm's up before their Betfred Cup Semi-Final between Hibernian and Celtic at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.
