An ex-writer for the troubled Uncharted movie has called The Last Of Us Part 2's director Neil Druckmann a "jerkoff" and "hitchhiker".

The Last Of Us Part 2 is one of the most anticipated games of 2019 as – although it’s not officially confirmed for this year – a retailer has possibly leaked its release date, and the game’s composer has said it’s coming "very soon". Its divisive director Neil Druckmann has previously been accused of “pushing an agenda” for sharing some fan art of Uncharted 4’s Chloe and Nadine embracing each other, and now Joe Carnahan – A-Team and Smokin' Aces' director, as well as the ex-writer of the troubled Uncharted film – has called him a “jerkoff”.

Speaking to Discussing Film, Carnahan discussed his R-rated script made for Uncharted in 2016 with Ryan Reynolds in mind. The Hollywood writer additionally mentioned how he wanted to please Amy Hennig seeing as Uncharted was her creation, before going on to accuse Druckmann of being a “hitchhiker” who stole the credit.

“I think whatshisface – I’m not a fan – the guy that kind of stole credit for it [Uncharted],” said Carnahan, referring to Druckmann before Discussing Film clarified his name. “Yeah, that jerkoff. Whatever, there was a bit of saboteuring there going on with Naughty Dog.”

Carnahan continued: “Amy created that world and she was the one that I really wanted to please. That other guy, whatever the hell his name is, he’s a hitchhiker.”

In other PlayStation news, insanely detailed character art for The Last Of Us Part 2 has surfaced, Sony’s newest exclusive Days Gone has slick menus, and the future of Atlus and Persona 5 will be covered at Sega Fes 2019.
