Michael Owen took to Twitter today, in reaction to Zinedine Zidane's appointment as the new Real Madrid manager, and highlighted how it should be seen as great news for Tottenham Hotspur fans.
Mauricio Pochettino took over as manager of Spurs in the summer of 2014, and he has worked wonders at the north London club, transforming them into perennial contenders for major honours both domestically and on the continent.
Unfortunately for Tottenham, however, his fine work has not gone unnoticed, with both Real Madrid and Manchester United being credited with interest in appointing him as their manager, according to the Guardian.
Now that Zidane has gone back to the Santiago Bernabeu, however, and with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doing such a fine job at United, Pochettino's immediate future seems to be with Spurs.
Or that is what Michael Owen believes at least.
The former Liverpool and Madrid hitman took to Twitter, highlighting how Zidane's appointment at the Bernabeu should be welcome news for Tottenham fans...
Some welcome news for Spurs fans after dropping out of the @premierleague title race.— michael owen (@themichaelowen) 12 March 2019
Surely only a matter of time before Solskjaer gets named as United's manager and with Zidane returning to Madrid, the position of their in-demand manager looks to be secure.
