Whatever happens with Tottenham Hotspur's season, Mauricio Pochettino needs another striker this summer.

Spurs, who are in the quarter-final of the Champions League, have seen their Premier League title bid fizzle out in recent weeks following a disastrous run of form.

Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Southampton was their third loss in four domestic games and it's more apparent than ever that Pochettino needs a plan-b option for Harry Kane.

Kane is arguably the world's finest number nine, but he isn't Superman. He does need somebody to share the goalscoring burden next season - and that man should be Wissam Ben Yedder.

The Sevilla hitman scored a hat-trick in Sunday's 5-2 win over Real Sociedad to make it 12 goals since the turn of the year. For context, Lionel Messi has one more than him in 2019.

This is a classy player and one in the peak of his career, with the France international turning 29 in August.

The truth is that the North Londoners have needed someone like Ben Yedder for years now, because Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen clearly aren't up to the task of covering Kane, but whether Pochettino renews an interest in the Sevilla star remains to be seen.
