Celtic captain praises Nir Bitton.

Celtic captain Scott Brown has praised the performances of midfielder Nir Bitton.

Bitton has been a regular under interim manager Neil Lennon and featured this weekend against Aberdeen.

Celtic were only able to manage a 0-0 draw.

Despite the disappointing result, Brown felt it was right to pick out his teammate for praise based on the last few weeks.

He told Celtic’s official website: “Nir Bitton has come back it and he’s been fantastic.

“It’s been difficult for him, being out for 10 or 11 months, and he’s played a few games in a row so I’m sure he’ll be feeling it over the next couple of days.”

The Israeli international told BBC Sport at the weekend he feared for his career during his extended injury lay-off.

Brown also praised young teammate Ewan Henderson, who is just 18 years old.

He said: “Ewan Henderson has been great when he’s played as well.”

Celtic have not lost any ground at the top of the table despite the draw, because Rangers could only draw with Hibernian the previous evening.
