Liam Henderson sends message to Aston Villa’s John McGinn on Twitter

John McGinn played well for Aston Villa against Birmingham City in the Second City derby.

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND - FEBRUARY 21 :

Hellas Verona midfielder Liam Henderson has praised Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn on Twitter for his performance against Birmingham City in the Second City derby at the weekend.

McGinn featured for Villa in their Championship match against Birmingham away from home at St. Andrew’s on Sunday afternoon.

The 24-year-old midfielder did not start the match, but the Scotland international came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute.

 

The midfielder made a massive impact after coming and changed the game, as Dean Smith’s side won the derby 1-0.

According to WhoScored, the former St, Mirren and Hibernian star took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 78.6%, won one header, and played two key passes.

McGinn joined Villa from Hibernian in the summer of 2018 and has been very good for the Villans this season.

The Scotland international midfielder has made 30 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Villa so far this campaign, scoring two goals and providing seven assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Henderson is a former teammate of McGinn for the Scotland youth teams, and the Italy-based midfielder has praised the 24-year-old on Twitter.
