The Sheffield Wednesday midfielder almost scored the winner in Monday's derby with Sheffield United.

Sheffield United fans are reacting angrily to Chris Wilder's claim that Sheffield Wednesday's Sam Hutchinson tried to deceive Blades players during Monday's Steel City Derby stalemate at Hillsborough.
Hutchinson had Wednesday's best chance of the game when he met Rolando Aarons' left-wing cross in the 65th minute, but steered the ball straight at United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
With John Fleck ahead of him, it was to much surprise that the Owls midfielder even reached the ball at all.
Speaking to The Star on Thursday, however, Wilder offered the following explanation:
"It was a bit of cheekiness that got them their big chance. Sam Hutchinson shouted 'goalkeeper's' and Flecky left it. I quite like that to be honest. I wouldn't have liked it if he'd have bloody scored. But I quite like that because it was sharp and bright. I thought it was brilliant."
But several of a Sheffield United persuasion haven't seen the funny side.
This is what they're saying on Twitter:
@MikeConstantine what a cheat

He cheated and still couldn’t score past the night Hendo. What a loser.

Cheating pig missed though. And I was cursing fleck at the time as well

Yellow card and indirect free kick for unsporting behaviour, that

and then Hutchinson sportingly passed it back tp Henderson. Conscious cleared

As for the Sheffield Wednesday fans, well not all of them are buying Wilder's 'revelation':
FAKE NEWS

people actually believe that?! He was looking at the keeper!! pic.twitter.com/3xuDiCCH24

If it happened at the Leppings end then it may have been plausible as we all know how quiet it was down that end. But as always with Wilder, I call bullshit.

Sounds like someone covering for having made a mistake...

Monday was Hutchinson’s first taste of an all-Sheffield encounter, having missed the previous three through injury.
The 29-year-old has only ever scored five goals for Wednesday in 122 appearances.

What do you make of the allegation aimed at the Sheffield Wednesday favourite?
