The Northern Ireland international moved to Paisley last summer after the arrival of Jon Flanagan and impressed in St Mirren’s battle against relegation. Hodson won the fans over with his work rate and versatility, playing in both full-back positions and in defensive midfield when required.
But the former Watford ace was forced to return to Ibrox in February, his loan spell cut short thanks to an ankle injury he sustained during a 4-0 defeat to Celtic.
The defender has now been pictured being put through his paces by the Rangers staff as he aims to return to full fitness ahead of next summer. Although it seems unlikely that he will ever play for the Glasgow giants again.
Hodson’s contract expires in the summer and Rangers appear to be eyeing a replacement right-back in Millwall’s Mahlon Romeo, according to the Express.
