Leeds United’s Samu Saiz left the Championship for La Liga in January but he could reportedly swap Getafe for Valencia next summer.

Valencia are keen to open talks with Leeds United about a summer deal for Samu Saiz, according to El Gol Digital.

A £3 million signing from Huesca in 2017 (YEP), Saiz was a big hit at Elland Road in his first season but pushed for a return to Spain in January for family reasons.

He joined Champions League-chasing Getafe in the January transfer window but he has failed to make an impression at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, being left on the bench for each of the club’s last three La Liga matches.

As a result, it seems unlikely that Getafe will take up their option to sign Saiz permanently for £6 million at the end of the season.

TEAMtalk claimed that the 28-year-old was already planning to join another La Liga club, however, and it seems he could get his wish – with one of the biggest sides in Spain no less.

El Gol Digital believe that Valencia are big fans of the former Real Madrid youngster and hope to enter negotiations with Leeds about a potential move to the Mestalla.

Valencia, who are well placed to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League, apparently see Saiz as a replacement for Villarreal loanee Denis Cheryshev.
