CD Projekt Red's latest creating Cyberpunk 2077 video shows off the heavily anticipated title's extensive character creation suite.

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is undoubtedly going to be amazing when it eventually comes out in the far off future. Yes, although the developer has confirmed they will be at E3 2019, unfortunately they probably aren’t preparing to announce an imminent release date as the studio’s latest Creating Cyberpunk video reveals that the title is far from complete and will come “when it’s ready”. But, in more uplifting news, the video also shows glimpses of the incredible world and gameplay, as well as its extensive character creation suite.

Although there was initially some backlash when CD Projekt Red first revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be first-person only, the video above and the nearly-hour long gameplay footage from E3 2018 has surely convinced us all that first-person was definitely the right choice. The world, the driving, the combat, and the sheer verticality is unlike anything else, and it’s impossible to not be impressed and naturally impatient.

Even though it’s first-person, CD Projekt Red has confirmed before on Twitter that your created character will be visible during cut-scenes. The creation suite will also vitally allow players to fully customise their unique character with specific sections including birth record, background check, biometric scan, appearance, and biostats. It will allow you to choose your character’s backstory and key life event, as well as create the face you want. From a superficial glance alone, it certainly appears to do the tabletop source material justice.

There’s no knowing what year Cyberpunk 2077 will launch, but it’ll be when the game’s ready.

In other gaming news, Hideo Kojima has confirmed Death Stranding is slightly behind schedule, Sega Fes 2019 will cover Atlus’ future, and Gravity Falls’ creator once called Kingdom Hearts a cynical abomination that proves God doesn’t exist.
