Gus Poyet has claimed that Tottenham ace Danny Rose was acting like he was ‘getting killed’ every time he was being fouled during his side’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Saturday.

As expected, the NLD provided entertainment and talking points throughout, with striker Harry Kane scoring from the penalty spot to cancel out Aaron Ramsey’s first-half opener.

In the dying moments of the game, after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw his penalty saved by Hugo Lloris, Lucas Torreira saw red for a high challenge on Rose.

Speaking to Goals on Sunday on Sky Sports Football (03/03/2019 at 10:20 am), former Sunderland boss Poyet, who managed the left-back at the Stadium of Light, had this to say about his former player.

“I know him very well, Danny,” Poyet told Goals on Sunday. “He did three or four yesterday, no, flips? Two in the first half, every fouled he looked like he was getting killed and he [Torreira] was very unlucky.”

England international, Rose, who was booked during the game, played the full match for Mauricio Pochettino’s side as they ended a two-game losing streak.

Added with that, after a remarkable 29 Premier League matches, Spurs recorded their first draw of the season and it so happens to have come up against their bitter rivals.

Earlier on in the campaign, the Gunners beat their neighbours in the league, but they turned the tables and knocked them out of the Carabao Cup weeks later.

Nonetheless, Pochettino’s side remain third in the table, four points ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal, with fourth-placed Manchester three points behind after their win at home to Southampton.
