The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, was speaking ahead of the Ibrox side’s upcoming Scottish Cup tie.

Steven Gerrard has described Scott McKenna as a ‘tremendous defender’ ahead of Rangers’ trip to Aberdeen on Sunday.
The Ibrox side travel to Pittodrie for a Scottish Cup quarter-final tie against a side they beat 4-2 at the same venue less than a month ago.
And that game is particularly memorable for the incident that saw both McKenna and Alfredo Morelos, the Rangers striker, sent off after a flare-up.
Asked whether he ‘had a word’ with Morelos, who has now been dismissed on four occasions this season, ahead of Aberdeen, Gerrard told Rangers’ official Youtube channel: “No, not really.
“I think they’re both box office to watch for neutral people. I’m sure it’ll be another physical battle between them both. And hopefully both players stay on the right side of it this time and we can see that box office battle for 90 minutes, because I think it was a real shame last time both of them getting sent off. I was really enjoying it.

“Scott’s a tremendous defender, he’s always physical, and Alfredo on the day was unplayable so it was certainly great to watch.”
Gerrard could be in the market for another central defender this summer, with Gareth McAuley’s contract and Joe Worrall’s loan deal due to expire.
However, whether or not McKenna could be considered a realistic Rangers target remains to be seen, given the Scotland international’s rumoured £10 million asking price (Scottish Sun).
