Nir Bitton was in action for Celtic.
One of Neil Lennon’s notable decisions as returning Celtic manager was to keep faith with Nir Bitton.
Bitton featured at the weekend against Motherwell, in just his fifth appearance of the season.
Last night against Hearts, Bitton played all 90 minutes of the 2-1 win.
This came during a frustrating performance, with many Celtic fans expressing on social media that they wanted the Israel international to be substituted.
Bitton’s attempts to score from long range particularly annoyed fans.
A late winner from Odsonne Edouard did not let him off the hook.
Celtic took the lead through James Forrest in the first half, and when Hearts were reduced to 10 men, they looked to be coasting to a win.
A 56th minute penalty for Hearts from Oliver Bozanic looked to be enough for the home side to earn a point.
Celtic fans expressed their frustrations with the 27-year-old’s performance…
Really missed these Bitton long range efforts. The ones that couldn’t get any further away from the goal if he tried.— Murray (@DMMacdonald96) February 27, 2019
Nir Bitton’s shooting is absolutely rotten man, get him aff the pitch— Liam Sweeney (@LimuSweeney) February 27, 2019
Is Bitton shortsighted? That’s 3 times in 5 mins Toljan has been in acres of space but he’s ignored him.— Marky (@Markbhoy) February 27, 2019

That’s twice Bitton has completely wasted possession from about 35 yards out. Get him aff and get Weah on.— Michael Mclean (@mikeymclean1987) February 27, 2019

Bitton stinking the joint out again tonight. Just like the bad old days under Neil first time around.— Séan (@CelticSean81) February 27, 2019
Brown and Bitton in the middle just doesn’t work. The play is far too slow and easy to defend against— The2pClub (@The2pClub) February 27, 2019
