Almiron joined Newcastle from Major League Soccer outfit Atlanta United in the January transfer window for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £21 million.
The Paraguay international was superb for Rafael Benitez’s side in their 2-0 win against Huddersfield Town at St. James’ Park in the Premier League at the weekend.
According to WhoScored, Almiron took four shots of which three were on target, played six key passes, had a pass accuracy of 82.1%, and took 46 touches.
Newcastle fans were impressed with the display produced by the former Lanus star and gave him a standing ovation against Almiron.
Former Newcastle manager Pardew believes that the St. James’ Park faithful can see what Almiron can bring to the team.
Almiron said on beIN SPORTS after Newcastle’s match against Huddersfield: “He got a standing ovation today, he got a standing ovation because Newcastle fans are not silly.
“They can see natural balance in him, natural attributes, he is quick, and he comes with a little bit of pedigree, by the way.”
