Premier League Leicester City need to replace Claude Puel and are looking at former Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner.

Leicester City have identified David Wagner as an alternative to Brendan Rodgers as they look to bring a new manager to the King Power Stadium, as reported by the Mirror (25 February, page 46).
The Foxes sacked Claude Puel on Sunday in the aftermath of Saturday’s horror 4-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace; a result and performance that saw boos ringing out from the stands and left the Frenchman in an impossible position.
While Celtic boss Rodgers has emerged as the expected front-runner on the back of successive domestic trebles north of the border, the Mirror believes that Wagner is also an option despite the fact he left Huddersfield Town bottom of the Premier League table last month.
It is allegedly a straight fight between him and the former Liverpool boss as things stand with a move for Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez unlikely.
The German performed a minor miracle at the John Smith’s Stadium when he took unfancied Huddersfield to the top flight in 2017 despite working with one of the Championship’s smallest budgets.

The Terriers survived in their debut season in the first division but appear to have hit a brick wall this season, 14 points adrift of safety. Wagner left by mutual consent in January.
But while it will take £6 million to prise Rodgers away from Celtic, according to the Scottish Sun, the Mirror points out that Wagner is available right now for absolutely nothing. And it is understood that this could give him the edge.
